Geomet s.r.o. is an SME founded in 2007 by four Czech geologists with long-term experience in the areas of economic geology and mineral exploration. Geomet selected the Cinovec (Zinnwald) deposit as a project that can provide critical raw materials for the Czech and European industry: tin, tungsten, and importantly lithium. Geomet received its exploration license from the Czech Ministry for the Environment in 2010 and since then has been performing geological surveys on the site. Geomet is presently a subsidiary of European Metals Holding (EMH), an Australian and UK listed mineral exploration and Development Company advancing the Cínovec Lithium / Tin Project in the Czech Republic, a RIS country. Cinovec hosts the largest lithium resource in Europe and one of the largest undeveloped tin resources in the World. The recently completed Preliminary Feasibility Study indicates that Cinovec has the potential to be the lowest-cost hard rock lithium producer in the World. In 2012, the company started a drilling campaign to validate the comprehensive data generated by the earlier development and exploration activities. The Company’s ongoing core-drilling programme completed 30 holes each averaging 400 m depth, successfully validating the earlier drilling results, adding lithium grade data and providing metallurgical test work samples. In 2015, a Scoping Study into the redevelopment of the Cínovec Project was commenced. The Scoping Study highlighted that the size, grade and location of the deposit make it a very attractive development opportunity and recommended that project proceeds through to a Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS). The PFS has been completed in 2017, and was followed up by an additional drilling campaign of 6 drillholes.
Geomet's director Richard Pavlik has 30 years experience in mining, at various expert and managerial positions. His working experience covers a wide range of areas: exploration, mining geology, hydrogeology, surveying, mine design, machinery etc.
