Week of Science and Technology

Coordinated by iTarg3T, we organized an activity to show the social importance of tungsten. We explained its discovery, extraction and uses, and we showed ore samples to the attendees.

Event oriented for scientific dissemination and citizen participation. The purpose is to actively involve citizens in science, technology and innovation. It is focused especially on the youngest in order to promote scientific vocations, aiming to eradicate gender barriers from the very first formative cycles. Geolodía Cáceres 2020

Geolodia is an activity at a national level organizated by the Geological Society of Spain that consisting on different field trips guided by teams of geologists.

Within the iTarg3T project, we organize a field trip to a mine and to a outcrop, located on Logrosán (Cáceres, Extremadura), to show people the importance of mining for society.

Geocharlas is an activity of dissemination of Geology aimed at nursery and primary schools, secondary schools, universities or associations.

This activity is coordinated by the Women's and Geology Commission of the Geological Society of Spain. In this talk, our partners CSIC will tell secondary school students the importance of projects like iTarg3T for the development of European mining and society.

This activity is financed by the FECYT (Spanish Foundatoin for Science and Technology - Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities). From CSIC, we organized an activity to show the importance of tungsten. We talked about its discovery, extraction and uses, and we showed ore samples to the secondary school students.
